During this very special year, due to the alert situation that we have had due to COVID-19, our firm celebrates 100 years of existence, giving all our experience and know-how, so that you can enjoy all our wines, and especially MURUVE , than 100 years ago.
It was in 1920, when its founder Frutos Villar, began his journey from a town, Villavendimio (Zamora), passing his legacy to his three sons, Salvio, Jacinto and Quirino, expanding throughout the region and other neighboring provinces, his wine red MURUVE. Later, a new generation, made up of José Luis, Jesús and Mª Concepción, developed the company in other Denominations of Origin (Cigales, Rueda y R, Duero, Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla y León). Currently, there is a 4th generation, which has taken the reins of Bodegas Frutos Villar, S.L., Jesús Jáñez, José Miguel Villar, José Luis Villar, Daniel Jáñez. Elena Villar, Fernando Villar, Alberto and Javier Jáñez, Carlos Villar, Patricia Villar.
To commemorate this centenary, the winery has released a special wine MURUVE GRAN RESERVA 2014, with 5,000 bottles, presented in individual cases, and cases of 3 bottles.

During the past month of February, 92 points were awarded through the famous magazine Wine Spectator, to several of our wines, “CONDE de SIRUELA ELITE 2016”, “MURUVE ELITE 2014”, and “MURUVE RESERVA 2015”. We have also been awarded 91 Points to “CONDE de SIRUELA CRIANZA 2016”.

Conde Ansúrez and Viña Calderona, Gold and Silver in “Le Mondial du Rosé of Cannes 2018
It is a pleasure to announce that, in the recent edition of “Le Mondial du Rosé” held in Cannes this same week (15th edition), our wines CONDE ANSÚREZ 2017 and VIÑA CALDERONA 2017 have obtained the gold and silver medals respectively, From last year.
This contest, original for evaluating only rosé wines from around the world, continues to grow in international prestige year after year, so we want to share this excellent news with all of you.
Of all the wineries with D.O. Cigales, Frutos Villar is the only one that repeats gold medal with Viña Calderona Rosado, proof of good work and continuous care in the elaboration of our wines.

The 2016 vintage of the D.O. Toro is rated ‘excellent’
A committee of experts made up of 85 tasters, including members of the full Board of Regulators of the Toro Denomination of Origin, technical directors of the Regulatory Council of other production areas, sommeliers, winemakers, winemakers and journalists has qualified the vintage 2016 of the Appellation of Origin Toro as “excellent”.
The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the Junta de Castilla y León, Milagros Marcos, has been in charge of announcing the result of the qualification 
of the vintage 2016 in the framework of the Wine Fair of Toro, during the days 27 and 28 of May a special year in which the D.O. Turns 30 Accompanied in the pronunciation of the result by the president of the D.O. Toro, Felipe Nalda, and other authorities.
The president of the Appellation of Origin Toro, has thanked “the work of farmers and winemakers, who are the true architects of our wines,” Nalda explained that the Regulatory Council of Toro is following the line to get greater visibility of Wines in the world, introducing new promotional actions as reverse missions, which are completed with the presence in the most prestigious fairs worldwide, as well as actions aimed at young people.
An exceptional vintage
Santiago Castro, technical director of the D.O. Toro explained that the wines of the vintage 2016 “are fresher, with a lot of fruit and with less alcoholic graduation. In addition the grapes had a perfect balance between acidity and PH, which will help to make the wines more longevous.”
